A woman's stockings of white cotton and pale pink silk.

The tops, which would not be at all visible, are made of cotton, and the ankles and feet are made of silk, although the heels and toes are plated with cotton for wear.

The stockings have English feet and the clocks are hand embroidered ending with a lozenge between leaves. Maker's mark 'M' for I & R Morley. Marked by the wearer in ink '6 CDP 54'.

They are the sixth pair of trousseau stockings of Caroline Dorothea Hay Currie who married Alfred Pollock in 1854.
